Apple & Pear Crumble

Technique:

1- Preheat the oven to 190°C

2- Chop the fruits and warm them in a pan with the ground ginger for about 10 minutes until all the fruits are tender.

3- In a mixing bowl, simply mix together all the ingredients for the crumble topping.

4- Put your warm fruits into a baking tin and spread the crumble over the top. Bake the crumble for about 30 minutes.

5- When is cook, set aside to cool for at least 20 minutes, to allow the topping to get nice and crunchy.

 

This is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth but don’t want to eat refined sugars as the pistachios and spices give it a burst of natural sweetness. If you like it sweeter, you can add some honey to the recipe.

For the filling:

3 pears

3 apples

1 tsp ground ginger

For the crumble:

1 cup oats

1 cup flakes

½ cup mixed nuts

½ cup pistachios

½ cup sultanas

1 tsp ground cinnamon
