My stay in a working organic farm on south Devon | Travel
Welcome to my first Call her Chef Travel blog post.
After a post on instagram sharing my bedroom view in Devon I received many messages asking about where I was staying, so I decided to share more about my experience on the South coast; and maybe you too reader will want to visit this beautiful place.
I unfortunately didn’t travel much in England just yet, but my first trip to Devon was a winner!
Where to stay?
I spent 4 days at Mount Folly Farm, a working organic farm on South Devon coast; Bigbury-on-sea. Literally situated at walking distance to sandy beaches.
Bigbury-on-sea is a small coastal village on Devon’s South Coast. It has large sandy beaches, rock pools and is safe for swimming. It is also a great place for walking, along the beach, across the farm or around the River Avon. I saw the most amazing views, I mean check this sunset out... a dream!
The small village has all the local services that you could want with cafes, a pub, a beach shop, village stores and even a gold club!
But you can also just stay at the farm and enjoy the breath-taking views from the garden. The house offers 3 bedrooms that can contain up to 7 people, a living room, a big kitchen with dining area, 1 bathroom and 2 toilets.

What to eat?
You can find high quality produce in Devon, such as dairy produce, fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and fish.
I have tried the tastiest crab and delicious fishes; but also great meat especially in the pasty which is as popular in Devon as it is in Cornwall.
In a sweeter note Devon offers many dairy produces; ice cream (Salcombe), cream tea involving scones, jam and clotted cream and least but not last, fudge which is often made with Devon clotted cream and can be found all over Devon.
What to do?
Walk, breath, cook, eat, relax… Be surrounded by nature is the most powerful feeling. Enjoy each moments and detox yourself from the busy city lifestyle.
