When you have all the essentials in your cupboard it is easier to prepare delicious, nutritious meal. Here is my 5 store-cupboard essentials.
ALMOND - The nourishing, alternative milk.
Makes creamy texture and nutty flavours fresh milk all year long. Whether you are dairy intolerant, vegan or just fancy a change, almond milk is a great alternative to cow’s milk.
Follow those easy steps to make the perfect almond milk:
Soak the almonds overnight.
Drain and rinse the almonds.
Combine the almonds and water in a blender.
Blend at the highest speed for a few minutes until smooth.
Strain the almonds using a nut milk bag.
Squeeze the milk out, leaving the pulp in the bag.
Sweeten to taste (cinnamon or honey).
EGGS - The all-purpose ingredient.
There is just so many recipes you can make with eggs. They can be used for breakfast poached on toast, will make the perfect ingredient in any salad for lunch and the most delicious omelette for dinner. Eggs are also the baker’s best friend! Use them in cakes and custards.
